Nguni AI is a trading name of Johnston Corp (Pty) Ltd. (Registration No. 2023/176337/07), based in Johannesburg, South Africa ("Nguni AI", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through nguni-ai.com, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information
Nguni AI (Johnston Corp (Pty) Ltd.) is the "responsible party" under POPIA for information collected through this site. Our Information Officer is Richard Johnston, reachable at privacy@nguni-ai.com for any privacy-related question or request.
What we collect
We only collect what you give us directly, through these forms:
- Mailing list signup ("Become a fan or supporter") — your email address.
- Project enquiry form ("Tell us what's slowing you down") — your name, business name, email, phone number (optional), a description of your problem, desired outcome, and timeline.
- 1-Day Course booking form — your name, business name, email, phone number (optional), city, preferred timing, and what you'd like us to look at first.
We also use Plausible Analytics to understand overall site traffic. Plausible is cookie-free and does not track or store any personal or identifiable information about individual visitors — we only see aggregate numbers (e.g. how many people visited a page).
Why we collect it
We use your information only to: respond to your enquiry or booking, scope and deliver the AI-Process work you've asked about, send you updates you've explicitly signed up for, and keep basic business records. We don't use your information for anything beyond what you gave it to us for, and we don't sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
Form submissions on this site are delivered to us via FormSubmit, a third-party form-processing service that forwards your submission to our email inbox. We don't share your information with any other third party, and we don't use it for advertising or marketing profiling.
Where your information is stored
Information submitted through our forms is stored in our email and business records, accessible only to Richard Johnston. Some service providers we use (such as FormSubmit and Plausible) may process data on servers outside South Africa; where that happens, we rely on those providers' own security and privacy commitments and only use providers with a credible privacy track record.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and deliver any engagement you proceed with, and we delete or anonymise it once it's no longer needed. Mailing list emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
Keeping your information secure
This site is served over HTTPS, and access to any personal information we hold is limited to Richard Johnston. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to: ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or update it, ask us to delete it, object to how we're using it, and withdraw consent at any time (for example, unsubscribing from our mailing list). To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@nguni-ai.com.
If you believe we've handled your information incorrectly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator:
- Email: POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za
- General enquiries: enquiries@inforegulator.org.za
- Address: Woodmead North Office Park, 54 Maxwell Drive, Woodmead, Johannesburg, 2191

Children's information
This site and our services are directed at businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

We'll update this page whenever how we collect or use information changes, and update the date at the top. Please check back occasionally if you want to stay current.
